Album Name Research

Image
Album Name Research In this task, I have come up with a variety of different names for the album title for our ancillary products, the mind map provides words with connections to our song Blue Lights. After thinking of 20 possible album names, I narrowed it down to 11 as I felt there would be too many for our target audience to choose from. As a group, we gathered 26 responses from our target audience to find out which album title would most suit our products. Here are some of the responses we received: "I like 'Illicit' best, as I don't like words I don't know and I feel I wouldn't be interested in an album if I didn't know what the main word meant" "You might alienate people by using words that they don't know" "'Paralife' is closely linked to the idea of your music video and I think it fits well" "I would like 'JRJA' the best, but it might look bad with her name printed und...

Second Amended Treatment

Image
Second Amended Treatment In this task, I have provided amendments to our original treatment depending on the feedback we received on our audience feedback. We went over our original ideas as a group and thought about how we could adapt them to meet the wants of our target audience, having to take on board a variety of different responses. In conclusion, I was asked to provide amendments for my original treatment based on the information and feedback gained from our target audience's response. I have learnt the requirements of what I will need to include in my music video in order to keep my target audience engaged throughout, whilst displaying a narrative that is both clear and evocative, having a sense of realism to keep it flowing naturally. Moving forward, this task will help us to plan out our story board and shot by shot list so that we have a strong idea of what shots to film for our music video.

Lip Sync

Lip Sync This task is to show the lip sync performed by our main female protagonist in time and in tune with our chosen song Blue lights by Jorja Smith.

Cutting to the Beat

Image
Cutting to the Beat In this task; I created a video on final cut, taking the theme video of a popular childhood programme, cutting and chopping the video at parts so that it fits with the beat of a chosen song. In my case, I chose to cut the Scooby-Doo theme video and a dubstep song called Thomas the Skank Engine.  In conclusion, from this task, I have improved my final cut skills so that it becomes easier and more fluent when having to use it to create my own music video. Learning how to use modifying skills on final cut such as reversing a clip and speeding it up has also helped to diversify my ability, whilst being able to make the video appear more complex.

Audience Feedback on Initial Ideas

Image
Audience Feedback on Initial ideas In this task, we have gained audience feedback using survey monkey and with video responses of how people have reacted to our initial ideas for our music video. In the conclusion I will analyse the general consensus that we have found. The survey monkey results provided a range of answers that prove that some of our ideas are good to be used and successful and that others should be altered and changed to meet the needs of our target audience. The results show that the video should represent a modern music video with colour and effects to intrigue the audience, as a pose to black and white. The audience would like to see drama and conflict within the music video that perhaps presents a rebellious narrative of some kind, where the lyrics complement the music and the visuals. The cliffhanger offered by the target audience at the end of the video will keep the audience pondering what would...

Artist Research

Image
Artist Research  In this task, I was asked to research the artist who originally created the song and music video to the one my group and I have chosen to mimic for our music video and ancillary tasks. In conclusion, I have created a Padlet document in which displays an in depth explanation of research into the life of the artist who created my chosen music video 'Blue Lights', Jorja Smith. From this task, I have learnt key information from Smith's life such as the inspiration behind her love for music and the lyrics of her songs. Moving forward, this task will help me as I now have a background knowledge on the video which can help me create ideas for the way my group set out our music video and give reasoning behind it as to why we have included that thought.
