Music Videos - The Basics

Here is my first blog task, conveying how real life music videos display typical conventions, allowing me to think of early ideas and concepts that I could think to include in a music video of my own.
The different categories of music videos are;
1. Performance - Band/Artist/Other people performing in their music video.
2. Conceptual - Artist/Band don't perform or appear in music video.
Other categories of music video are:
- Gag/Trick
- Dance
- Animation
- Party/Club
- Film Clip

I have learnt that the three main types of music video are performance, conceptual and narrative, giving examples of each category. This will help me in the future as it will allow me to see if music video's follow or don't follow the typical conventions of their music video category and it will help me further analyse representation.
