Introduction to Blog Tasks Video

Introduction to Blog Tasks Video Here is an introduction to my A2 media coursework, the tasks I will  be completing and how I will be completing them. When I met up with my group, we decided to do an indie song called 'Blue Lights'. We chose this song because it is an upbeat song, which we have some good ideas for a music video and Jorja Smith is not yet a big defined artist which we feel is better for us to be original with our designs and ideas.  We originally were going to do a pop song, however, we then decided it was going to be too difficult as the artist would already have a defined audience and a designed look. We looked at songs by artist such as Marina and the Diamonds, or Lana Del Ray but we wanted something more original and unknown so we could have more flexibility to be creative. We then came across a song by Lykke Li which we liked, although it was a little bit boring and didn't give us any creative ideas about what the music video co...

Representation of Glamour/Pop lifestyle

Representation of Glamour/Pop lifestyle: In this task, I am looking at the representation of glamour and a pop lifestyle in real life music videos. This is allowing me to look at more conventions and concepts and begin to think of the genre of music video that I would like to create. Lesson Notes 8/9/17: Music Videos - The Basics Here is my first blog task, conveying how real life music videos display typical conventions, allowing me to think of early ideas and concepts that I could think to include in a music video of my own. The different categories of music videos are; 1. Performance - Band/Artist/Other people performing in their music video. 2. Conceptual - Artist/Band don't perform or appear in music video. 3. Narrative - Story shown in music video, clear beginning, middle and end. Other categories of music video are: Gag/Trick Dance Animation Party/Club Film Clip Lady Gaga - Applause - lots of different outfits, lots of different locations, innovative. Applause had a lot more production value because of the editing process, compared to 1D Beautiful as they used a single location of the beach. In this post I have displayed my understanding of different categories of music video and how they are r...
