Evaluation Question 4

Image
Evaluation Question 4 In my final evaluation task, I will analyse the media technologies that I have used in order to create my products throughout the process. I used a variety of digital and technological appliances in order to consistently improve and display my products and to meet the brief. In conclusion, I used a variety of media technologies in order to create my final products, without them I wouldn't of been able to do any of my research, planning or production and therefore they were vital to the creation of my final products.

Evaluation Question 3

Evaluation Question 3  Here is my third evaluation task where I have taken the audience feedback that I have gained in my different blog tasks at different stages of the production process, to see how the improvement feedback that I gained helped me to make my products better and therefore make them more successful. In conclusion, I believe that the feedback I gained helped me to understands the positive and negative elements of my products in order to improve on those negatives to make my product extremely successful.  Target audience is feedback is useful and effective as it helped me to improve my product through the eyes of the consumer and not just the creator, meaning I could take on a range of ideas that enabled my products to be more evocative and engaging. I believe I have shown the skill to make my products better over time by taking the audience feedback on board so that my products now clearly link and show an obvious narrative to nay consumer...

Evaluation Question 2

Image
Evaluation Question 2 Here is my second evaluation task about how effective the combination of main product, the music video, and my ancillary products, the digipack and album advert, were together, and how clearly they linked. I will analyse this by looking at the conventions of my products to see where they clearly link, especially when it comes to colour schemes, font choices and the showing of my main protagonist. (you will need to pause each slide to read information) In conclusion, I believe that the conventions I have chosen to use that link my products together are very effective, as the products are clearly linked through their vibrant colour schemes, similar fonts and continuous display of the main protagonist. The colour schemes are powerful and vibrant and represent the unique style or Indie music. Also, the photos connote meanings that represent the narrative of the music video, such as the female protagonists t-shirt denoting her mental strength and courage t...

Evaluation Question 1

Evaluation Question 1 Here is my first evaluation task analysing the ways that my media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real life media products. In order to do this, I will look back at the knowledge I have collected in my previous blog tasks, to help me decide whether I have used conventions well or not. This will be done by looking at Goodwin's theory, a comparison between my products and other Indie products (music video and ancillary), the stereotypes of narratives and the typical codes and conventions used in digipacks and album adverts. In conclusion to my first evaluation task, I feel like overall I have followed the majority of obvious conventions so that the products look real and professional, however, I also feel like I have thrown a few twists into my products, breaking and challenging conventions such as including images of my artist on my ancillary products, especially the covers so that my products are instantly recognisable ...

Indie Album Advert Research

Indie Album Advert Research  (forgot to post this a lot earlier with album cover research, sorry.) In this task, I will analyse a range of Indie album advert's to gain inspiration for my own ideas for my album advert. I will discover the stereotypes of Indie album adverts and they are used in each. In conclusion, I have analysed different Indie album adverts to gain inspirations for my own ideas and products. I now understand the stereotypes that are used on album adverts, but that not all of these conventions are always followed. Stereotypical conventions such as a using shapes and vibrant colours to engage and entice an audience can be folded into my own ideas for my own products, as well as simplistic conventions like the band name font normally being larger than the album name font. I have learnt that engaging the audience with eye contact from the artist can be a good way of showing the artists importance and power in my album advert. Moving forward, I can use the ...

Target Audience Photo Thumbnails Selection

Image
Target Audience  Photo Thumbnails  Selection  (forgot to post this earlier, in reply to photo thumbnail post) This task is a follow up to my blog task about the variety of shots I have taken for selection for my ancillary products. I asked my target audience to select their favourite photos from the thumbnails that I created in order to have the best possible images on my ancillary products. It is important to select the right photos for my ancillary products as I can edit them and show off my Photoshop skills as well as them making the products more eye catching and appealing. I asked my friends on a Facebook group (web 2.0 tool) so that the feedback was interactive and social media related. From the responses I have gained from this task, I will take into consideration their ideas as well as incorporating my own ideas in order to use the most effective photos for my digipack and album advert. I will take into consideration my audience feedback as well as ...

Digipack & Album Advert Proggression Feedback

Image
Digipack & Album Advert Progression Feedback ( forgot to post this earlier, in response to digipack and album advert progression blog posts) In this task, I will gain audience feedback from my target audience in order to see the elements of my ancillary products that they like, needs improving and their links to show that the products go together. Gaining this feedback will help me to create new concepts and ideas of how to make my products appear more appealing and engaging to a consumer. I showed my target audience the progression I had made on my ancillary products before asking them to complete a Survey Monkey in order to collect and analyse their responses. In this task, I have collected responses from my target audience for an updated insight on their thoughts on my ancillary product progression. From the results I have collected, I can see that all the responses show that my ancillary products clearly link through the artist images, colour scheme...

Target Audience Feedback on Final Ancillary Products and Music Video

Image
Target Audience Feedback on  Final Ancillary Products  and Music Video  In this task, I have collected target audience feedback on my final ancillary products in order to understand how well I have met the brief, showed conventional understanding and conveyed my narrative. I asked my target audience their first thoughts on my ancillary products, how well they link together and with my music video, if the products are conventional and what edits of the music video they like/don't like. This task will then help me moving forward as I will have the target audience content needed to complete my evaluation tasks for my final products.  What are your first thoughts on my ancillary products and are they conventional? Do you think my products link? What edits and effects do you like in my music video? From this I can conclude that my target audience are pleased and impressed with my final ancillary products ...

Audience Feedback on Storyboard

Image
Audience Feedback on Storyboard (forgot to post this earlier) In this task, I have gained audience feedback on my storyboard to see if they like the range of shots, effects and edits that I have drawn out or if they would like it to be more simplified or even more diverse. The feedback will also give me understanding of whether the narrative is displayed easily or whether ideas need to be adapted in order for it to become more clear. This task will therefore help me moving forward as I can begin to adapt and change my ideas to the requests of my target audience in order to make my final products more engaging and successful. From the feedback I have gained I have the understanding that my target audience can understand the narrative of my music video from my storyboard which means it includes conventions of my genre. The variety of shot types and special effects is another part liked by my target audience as it enables them to stay engaged and interested in the music ...

Storyboard

Image
Storyboard (forgot to post this earlier, sorry) In this task, I have drawn out my storyboard to show how I would like to set out my music video. The storyboard includes the a shot by shot, shot types, shot duration, sound, dialogue, edit, transition, SFX and a brief description of each shot. This task will make it easier for me to film my shots, where I would like to film and then the cast that I would need to make the music video. This task will help me moving forward as I can now begin to start filming for my music video and adapting ideas so that it meets the narrative of an abusive relationship. In this task, I have drawn out my storyboard to give me an idea of the variety of shots that I need to create and film for my music video. My storyboard is not my final ideas so I will adapt them as I go and edit to see what works well and what doesn't work as well. I am also aware that I will have to have multiple filming sessions as I know that I will think...

Album Advert Progression Update

Image
Album Advert Progression Update  (forgot to upload this earlier) In this task, I will provide an update on my album advert progress to see how much I have done and how it links with my digipack to show that they are apart of the same ancillary. This task will show how my ideas are coming together to form a clear and effective album advert that represents the genre well. This task has shown my progression so far on Phtoshop and how my ideas are coming together to form my album advert. I have just finished creating the main image on my album advert of the four emotion photos and I will now use this on the cover of my digipack to show that the products are linked. The colour scheme on both products are identical to show their link as well as the fact that I have used the same fonts to show that the products belong to the same genre and are advertising the same artist and songs. I will continue to change my ideas for my album advert layout so that I finish with an end p...

Digipack Progression Update

Image
Digipack Progression Update (forgot to post this earlier) In this task, I will show you an update on how the editing for my digipack is coming along to show the progression of my work on Photoshop so far. This will leave me with a comparison of the point that I'm up to now and then my final product to see how I'be changed my digipack to make it more applying and effective.  This task shows the stage in which I am up to with my digipack with 2 weeks left until the deadline. I have included a background that incorporates the colours wanted by my target audience as well as the fonts that they chose as well. I haven't yet chosen the style or layout of my cover yet I have decided to change the idea I was going with on my drawn out layout design as we have found it difficult to apply 'beaten' make up to Daisy as it can be very time consuming. The images I have selected to be on my digipack have been chosen by my target audience (blog post photo thumbnail se...

Final Ancillary Products

Image
Final Ancillary Products In this task, I have displayed my final ancillary tasks that display my incorporation of everything that I have taken on I this project during my research and the preferences of my target audience. I have changed ideas and concepts throughout in order to display appropriate ancillary products that represent the Indie genre and the narrative of the music video well, as well as displaying my capabilities as a media student using Photoshop and the skills that I have developed during this and previous projects.

Music Video

Image
Music Video In this task, I have completed my final product fro my music video. I have incorporated all the different aspects of media that I have developed during this project and previous media projects in order to create a piece that represents my capabilities as a media student using final cut as well as displaying my understanding of the Indie genre of music and how to represent it through the music video's narrative.

Colour Scheme and Font Choice

Image
Colour Scheme and Font Choice (forgot to post this earlier, sorry) In this task, I provided my target audience with this colour palette so that they could decide on the type of colour scheme I should use on my digipack and album advert. I gave them the choice of a variety of colours as my research showed that other ancillary products within the Indie Genre don't stick to a specific colour, although the majority use basic colour text to add simplistic and classy connotations to a genre that can be very out there. I asked 10 people to choose their top 3 favourite colours, ideally ones that go together and don't clash. ided them with the fonts below to choose from, I would use between 2-4 of these fonts on my ancillary products to show that they link with one and other and don't look to dissimilar. I asked the same 10 people to choose their top two favourite fonts. For this task, I gave my target audience a colour palette and font choices to choose the ...
